Abstract:
As it is known, many communities and states accepted as a rule the depredation of cities they invaded. Moreover in ancient times, one of the reasons for armies to take part in a war was the wealth that they expect after depredation. But as far as noticing that sacramental places or monuments prized by society were being destroyed irrevocably, the expression of protecting objects and buildings that are sacramental-cultural values has been created. The leaders took decisions not to destroy these values during the wars, made regulations at national and international levels and cooperation has been established about this issue.
Therefore, in the first part of the paper, the history of the protection of the cultural heritage in conflict are briefly narrated. In its second part, the sociologic, psychologic and financial reasons of the looting, destroying of the cultural heritage in time of conflict and few samples of national, international, military approaches, applications, trainings, projects..etc on that subjects are explained. In the conclusion part of the paper are made some suggestions to protect the cultural heritage before-during and after conflict.
