The Inari Archaeological Information System offers many features for documentation, analysis and publishing of archaeological data. It combines all archaeological data to make documentation and the following extraction of information easier and can be used on any platform.In this workshop the participants will be introduced to documenting with Inari AIS. From the set-up and customization of an excavation to the finer points of documenting finds.

The participants will learn how to use the AIS efficiently and will see why an Information System is better than a pure database.

The workshop covers:

  • Setting up a project
  • Customizing the interface
  • Documenting features, contexts, horizons and artefacts
  • The Harris Matrix and GIS

Notes to participants:
If you want to try the AIS for yourself you can bring a WIFI-enabled laptop or tablet, but you are also able to follow the workshop without one.
