Abstract:
Communication is increasingly becoming one of the primary goals for the popularization of the cultural heritage. The need of searching effective strategies for interaction with society and that of sharing knowledge and experiences are growing day by day. This study aims the creation of a new communication channel which can be able to combine contents with the above mentioned outreach strategies. The video sector, although it is characterized as a sector already widely explored, make unexperienced users to approach to a scientific products which remained exclusive tool for advanced experienced persons for long time. So, videos have been able to change the way of approaching to the scientific method.
The purpose of this research, although with the knowledge to deal with a topic in continuous development, is to explain, as fully as possible some case study: the use of animation in the understanding of the perspective drawing in Masaccio’s Trinity, Scuola di Atene by Raffaello, Salomone and Queen of Saba by Ghiberti.
In the video was submitted a part about the origin of perspective and some study by Filippo Brunelleschi about the birth perspective. For all studies was created an animation that explain the perspective in a simple way.
The representation of the third dimension on flat surfaces has been a challenge for artists of various ages, ever more linked to the need of combining deception and illusion. The use of animation for transmitting the perspective model’s perception, its content and its geometric process, should be the right way to make these topics accessible to a wide audience of users without sacrificing the scientific accuracy.
