Abstract:
This video showcases a building which in 2040 should host 36 years of historical records collected since 2004. Not only the records are displayed in different ways and mediums but they also represent different languages of this period of history. Visitors to the site can compare these records individually and thus produce their personal interpretation. This experiment is particularly interesting within the field of Cultural Heritage, as it is generated proactively rather than retroactively, as it is often the case (i.e. the data is continuously collected systematically rather than retrieved in the future and the resulting cultural site is generated beforehand). For more information please refer to the abstract “A Proactive Generation of Cultural Heritage” or visit the project official website at: http://2004-2040.com/
