Outline:

Presentation in two parts :

First – Some considerations about development’s perspectives of 3D cultural heritage’s models – Necessitate of essential shift – creation of relative complex image of historical events in there context – “3D historically interpreted image of past reality”

Need for creation of special integrated 3D VR/AR environment for support of cultural heritage domain-specific working processes

Second – In connection with the scope of the conference, will be made a short presentation of a past project, concerning attempt for creation “Center for advance technologies in culture”, using existing urban environment in the center of Sofia (at the moment of project development) trough covering former mausoleum with contemporary glass-metal construction and utilize it’s infrastructure for creation of 3D virtual exhibition’s space, connecting existing area with underlying roman level (one of traceable town cultural layers).

Abstract:

The purpose of this presentations is to express some considerations, concerning possible future developments in the field of 3D cultural heritage’s models, with accent on exploration of the necessitate of essential shift of our approach – inevitability transition from relative uncomplicated 3D models (evidence models/attempts for monuments reconstructions) to the efforts for creation of relative complex (embracive) image of historical events in there context – “3D historically interpreted image of past reality”. In perspective view should be emphasized, that there is growing need for creation of special integrated 3D VR/AR environment for support of cultural heritage domain-specific working processes. Recently we could notice tendency of increasing the role of 3D Models(VR/AR environment as a research/scientific education tools) in scientific processes, specially with the focus on the model based reasoning and  that’s why it is especially important for us accelera

te development of 3D modeling environment for creation of comprehensive historically interpreted images of the past reality. 3D VR/AR modeled environment could also help in uncovering of knowledge gaps (white spots in our knowledge about certain parts of historical development). Further will be commented some other aspects in possible agenda for domain innovation’s development – the need for widening of implementation of human figure in 3D modeled historical space ( in regard of importance of person’s role in historical events, significance of human figure for dimensional orientation in the represented build environment…); Role of 3D models of cultural heritage monuments as a tool for prevention; Necessity for transition from interdisciplinary to the polidisciplinary modality of working processes – both in research investigations and scientific education processes and some others.
