The CHNT-blog is one in a hundred of blogs about and around archaeology and its neighbour professions. Today I would like to present you some of them.

At the beginning of my research about archaeological blogs I did not imagine finding so many different blogs. And I actually limited my research to blogs in German, French, English, and Spanish!!! You can have general blogs (about archaeology in general) or very specific blogs (about one specific topic or event or person or site). But you can also have more scientific blogs and some which are more esoteric or conspiracy theory. Therefore, I will not list all the known blogs but will introduce you some of them I particularly liked:

* The CHNT-blog is a platform where you can read about new technologies used since computer sciences facilitate the archaeologist’s work and their development through years in the field work and also in the postprocessing and post-editing, as well as in institutions and museums. Lately, you will get more information about the new cooperation with ICOMOS and the forthcoming conference.

* Archaeology in Europe is a blog with one post per week and around 700 followers. It focuses on news in archaeology from Europe. I appreciate that you have a calendar with all archaeological events and the different topics. It’s thematic spread in incredible from the earlier human ages to nowadays and not focusing on one narrow topic.

* One of the best-known blogs about archaeology is definitely Ancient Origins. Maybe this is due to its wide online presence in many social media and their average of three posts per day. Here you will read about news related to human origins and archaeology but also about unsolved mysteries.

Archeologia.be is a blog about news on archaeology and cultural heritage in French. Pierre-Emmanuel Lenfant, the author, writes about news in archaeology from around the world but focuses on archaeology and cultural heritage in Belgium. The objectives of this blog are multiple: to help, connect, promote, enhance, defend, and act.

* Archaeologos is a blog on archaeology and cultural education. Dr. Claudia-Maria Behling’s aim in her blog is to demystify the archaeological profession. Consequently, it offers a bridge between research and cultural mediation, between science and the public.

* Archeonews focuses mainly on the archaeology and history of food in Europe, around the Mediterranean Sea and the fertile crescent but also chooses to present events or personalities with historical importance celebrating an anniversary.
