How did CHNT attract your attention?
As our company has participated in a number of projects closely related to Europeana, we are regular visitors on the official site to follow upcoming and worth-to-attend events. That is how we came across CHNT some months ago, and now we are excited to join this dedicated community.
What do you expect from the conference for your company?
What we expect the most from participating this event is to gain an insight into the needs and preferences of professionals working with digitized archaeological data towards software used in the course of their work. We would like to serve our customers to the best of our knowledge, to which such personal experiences and hints from the first hand are crucial. This conference would also provide a perfect opportunity to broaden our international cooperating community.
Please introduce yourself and your company?
Qulto® is the essence of our two-decades expertise gained in the field of cultural heritage and knowledge management IT. We unify our cultural and science related software, hardware and content solutions under this brand, which together make up a coherent whole. The name Qulto® also indicates the philosophy we owe our success to: we think in openness, networks and cooperation.
The members of our corporate group (Qulto Companies) together with our partners are proficient in different professional specialties, thus as a network they have the knowledge necessary for implementing major projects. With our growing number of clients we build up a cooperating community; we call this network the Cultware Network.
Our aim is to foster the automation of library and museum processes towards the latest trends, which can help the internal professional work of libraries and museums, the handling and processing of collections, and the exhibition and organizational work addressing the visitors by the different attraction applications.
We assemble our solutions from lego-like components, which communicate with each other according to international standards and following COPE (Create Once and Publish Everywhere) concept. Thus, our codes can easily be reused and we can quickly build new solutions from them. Also, with the help of standards, we integrate them to either open source or business solutions. We gladly use open source or freely available components, too, and we return our developments back to the related online communities. We consider the cultural and scientific contents and the related metadata to be a semantic network, and this approach serves as a shared basis for our solutions ranging from inventories to gamification.
