The traditional ” Martinigansl Essen” (roasted goose)” starts in Eastern Austria at the end of October. On November 11 is the Saint Martin’s Day, it is the feast day of Saint Martin of Tours. This is the time when autumn wheat seeding was completed, and the annual slaughter of fattened cattle began.

What is a BLUNZEN?
Blood sausage (Blunzen) is a cooked sausage of pork, bacon, rind and spices. It is considered one of the oldest types of sausage maybe it is already mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey.
