Abstract:
Everything you do is related to „Location“. Also Archaeology! Location is always present in your work and behind the locations you are dealing with additional, attributive information which has to be visualized and/or analyzed – in 2D or 3D, on your desktop, in your browser or on your mobile device, online or offline.
All this and much more – like multi-temporal analyses – is possible with Esri’s ArcGIS Platfom! These possibilities are given through the ArcGIS Platform itself which includes online access to Basemaps, Open Data, access to shared Data from people all over the world, easy to create apps, storymaps and webmaps and a lot more. Of course it’s still possible to develop own apps, webmaps and tools by using SDKs.
The ArcGIS Platform is not only about making analyses with ArcGIS for Desktop. It’s about creating data in the field with appropriate apps, sharing this data to an authorized audience immediately via ArcGIS for Server technology, processing this data on a mobile device, in the web browser or on the desktop and using it directly in appealing and easy to create webmaps or storymaps for presentations to tell the audience a story about the research topic. All this is done by the ArcGIS Platform in a smooth and integrative way.
Therefore the presentation focuses on the ArcGIS Platform and all its new technologies and possibilities in using geographic information systems.
