Abstract:
Facebook Spaces was recently released in beta. Spaces makes possible integration of the Oculus Rift and Facebook by utilizing Facebook’s live streaming function. One to four Rift users can meet in Spaces and simulcast their interaction to anyone logged into Facebook. The background of the Rift scene can be a panorama of a virtual world. The talk will show how virtual world developers can use Spaces to reach and interact with people all over the world who do not necessarilly have a Rift. The purpose of this talk is to give an overview of why Facebook Spaces can be a useful resource for professionals in the field of Virtual Heritage.
