In this dissertation we will present you our dynamic website for the French archaeological Community. Throught this portal all archaeologists will find many services : mail server and client, discussion boards, downloads, files backup system, scientific links, voice over IP servers, newsletters, edition of online C.V. and so on.
If an archaeologist have some texts or articles to publish he can do it via our portal. We will also publish some printables tutorials on how to use some informatic programs such as Inkscape, The Gimp or Linux systems and programs in archaeology.
The primary goal will be to coordinate and consolidate the archaeological community around only one scientific website providing all the internet technology under the copyleft law (all the system is made under GNU/GPL programs such as linux server, groupware and portal forged in PHP and MYSQL database).
Then we want to create different kinds of private service modules. When a member log in, he can access a private zone where he can modify all his references. The member can also write news, create new website links in the portal database, generate his online C.V. or post book or article critics.
In the future, many more options will be added and codded. For the moment, we are working on a bibliographical module which will let the member enter his own working bibliographies. We also want to create a paypal service which will enable archaeologists (students or scientists) to send us theyr different sketches and drawings to convert them into Illustrator format for a modic price.
The system will be translate in different languages and it group other web services such as web gallery, groupware, VOIP servers, sharing files system and so on. For the moment, the system is under phase test but it’s possible to register on it for free at http://archeosite.homedns.org.
